Our flagship organic ale, Avocet®, has reached the finals of the Champion Beer of Britain Awards, one of the most prestigious competitions in the UK brewing industry.

For us, this recognition is particularly special. Avocet has been at the heart of our brewery for many years and has become one of the South West's most recognisable and loved ales. To see it recognised once again on the national stage is a proud moment for everyone involved in brewing it.

A Devon Ale with a Proud History

First brewed nearly two decades ago, Avocet has built a loyal following among beer drinkers who appreciate its balance, drinkability and character.

Light straw in colour, Avocet combines gentle hoppy and toffee aromas with subtle notes of fruit, vanilla and citrus. It is a beer that remains true to its roots while continuing to appeal to both traditional ale drinkers and those discovering cask beer for the first time.

One of Britain's Toughest Beer Competitions

Organised by CAMRA, the Champion Beer of Britain Awards are widely regarded as the pinnacle of British brewing recognition.

The competition involves multiple rounds of blind tasting by experienced judges and beer enthusiasts from across the country. Reaching the finals means being recognised among the very best cask beers brewed anywhere in the UK.

Having previously finished as runner-up in 2017, we're thrilled to see Avocet return to the final stages once again.

Reaching the finals of the Champion Beer of Britain Awards is a wonderful achievement for the brewery and for everyone who has supported Avocet over the years.
